Kaaita: Circular Thinking Instead of Single-Use Products

What may seem like a small detail to guests has a surprisingly significant impact: the slippers provided during a hotel stay.

Rather than relying on traditional disposable slippers, Kaaita has developed washable and reusable slippers made from recycled materials. According to Kaaita's impact report, a single pair is created from six recycled PET bottles. Each pair can be washed and reused up to ten times, significantly reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of materials. The report also highlights that 6,120 plastic bottles were recycled through this system in 2025 alone.

The success of the concept lies in conscious consumption. Guests are invited to request slippers only when needed rather than receiving a new pair by default. In addition, discreet information in the room encourages guests to leave the slippers behind after their stay so they can be professionally cleaned and reused.
