Susann Haberkorn recommends:
Whether before dinner at Montana, after a stroll through the old town or as a cultural highlight in the evening - a visit to Lucerne's theater is definitely worth the experience. 🎭
A structured, clear entrance area, free checkroom and two bars (including a gin bar 🍸) on the first floor invite you to arrive in style. The atmosphere in the hall? Somewhat historic, but with a modern stage - as cozy as a living room where you can relax and immerse yourself in the world of theater.
For anyone who loves culture or wants to discover it: A clear recommendation!
The Lucerne Theater
The Luzerner Theater is a multi-genre theater with opera, drama, dance and the Junges Luzerner Theater. As the largest cultural institution in Central Switzerland with its own ensemble, it presents its productions in the Haus an der Reuss, in the Box opposite, in the basement on Winkelriedstrasse and regularly at various locations in the city. It is regionally anchored with supra-regional appeal and cooperates with a wide range of artists and institutions of regional and international importance. These include the Lucerne Festival, the Swiss Theater Meeting and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, which is involved in numerous productions as an opera orchestra.
Since summer 2021, the theater has been under the direction of Ina Karr. Every season from the end of August to the end of June, the Lucerne Theatre presents a varied program with around 350 performances per season.
